Medical Terms Part 3


1. Cardiopulmonary Resucitation (CPR)心肺機能蘇生—restoring a person’s breath and life—You can save someone’s life if you know CPR.

2.  castギプス—a hard bandage that is placed around a broken bone to keep it in place—I hope the doctor will remove my cast before I go on vacation.

3.  chemotherapy化学療法—a type of treatment that is used on cancer patients—Chemotherapy is very hard on a person’s body.

4.  chicken pox水疱瘡—a virus commonly contracted by children, characterized by itchy spots all over the body—Chicken pox is very contagious!

5.  coroner検死官—a person who determines the cause of death—The police call the coroner when a person’s death seems suspicious.

6.  critical condition危篤状態—requiring immediate and constant medical attention—A person who is in critical condition can’t have many visitors.

7.  crutches松葉杖objects that people with injured legs or feet use to help them walk—It’s hard to walk on stairs if you have to use crutches.

8.  cyst嚢胞—a sac in the body-tissue filled with fluid that is sometimes diseased—The doctor removed the cyst and ran tests on it to make sure there wasn't a serious problem.
