January 2013 Schedule

Dear Friends,

Happy New Year!  I hope you are all well!

Here is our schedule for January:

Thursday, January 17th, at 10:00 a.m.--Bible Study and English Lesson at Ava's house.  We will study, "Adam and Eve" and our English Lessons will be, "Who is Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr?" "Quotes From Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr." and "Going To The Doctor".  I'll be able to go to lunch after the class and I hope you can join me!

Also, it's the time of year when schools can be closed for weather.  Generally, if Rutherford County Schools are closed on our class day, I will reschedule the class.  I'll send an email if that happens, but I just wanted to let you know the plan if schools are closed.  Hopefully, we'll have good weather on our class days this year!

Sunday, January 27th, at 9:30 a.m.  Bible Study Class at Ava's house.  We will continue our study of Max Lucado's book, "Facing Your Giants".   This book is about King David's life and it has good lessons about overcoming problems.

Children are welcome to join us and Japanese translation and Bibles are provided for both classes.

Please invite any new friends to join us for either class.  I'm looking forward to seeing everyone later this month.

Your Friend,

Ava

Lyrics For Christmas Songs

Silent Night

Silent night, holy night!
All is calm, All is bright
Round yon Virgin, Mother and Child
Holy Infant so Tender and mild,
Sleep in heavenly peace,
Sleep in heavenly peace.

Silent night, holy night!
Shepherds quake at the sight!
Glories stream from heaven afar;
Heavenly hosts sing Al-le-lu-ia!
Christ the Saviour is born!
Christ the Saviour is born!

Silent night, holy night!
Wondrous star, lend thy light!
With the angels let us sing
Alleluia to our King!
Christ the Saviour is here,
Jesus the Saviour is here!

Silent night, Holy night!
Son of God, love's pure light
Radiant beams from Thy holy face,
With the dawn of redeeming grace,
Jesus Lord at thy birth;
Jesus Lord at thy birth.

Deck The Halls

Deck the halls with boughs of holly
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la
'Tis the season to be jolly
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la
Don we now our gay apparel
Fa-la-la, la-la-la, la-la-la.
Troll the ancient Yule-tide carol
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la.

See the blazing Yule before us.
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la
Strike the harp and join the chorus.
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la
Follow me in merry measure.
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la
While I tell of Yule-tide treasure.
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la

Fast away the old year passes.
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la
Hail the new year, lads and lasses
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la
Sing we joyous, all together.
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la
Heedless of the wind and weather.
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la.
